About Intersect

Who We Are

We strive to be a joyous, safe, and healing community where people can grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Intersect Community Church is located in Moscow, Idaho and has been serving the Palouse since 2011. Our church was birthed to be a refuge of God’s unconditional love and with a mission to make disciples. We are a community that loves God with all of our heart and loves each other as ourselves with the hope that we will be known for our love for one another.

In October of 2010, while Barry and Anna McGarrah were visiting the Palouse, God led them to begin thinking about the many hurting people they came into contact with who were no longer in church or who had been hurt by other Christians and had walked away from God. Barry and Anna were both on staff at Crossroads Community Church in Nampa Idaho at the time, and decided to plant a new church on the Palouse.

Barry and Anna, along with their two young children, not only began to form the Intersect Community, but they, with the help of family, started Bonkerz Indoor Playcenter out a heart for children and families on the Palouse. This dedication to children and families in the community has continued to grow as an important part of the mission of Intersect.

Danny and Michelle Ellinwood, who were currently serving on the staff of the Elizabeth City Evangelical Methodist Church, were invited to move to Moscow from North Carolina to team up with the McGarrahs in the leadership of Intersect. After sensing God’s call into counseling ministry, Barry and Anna moved back to the Nampa area in January of 2018 to begin an internship with faith-based Refuge Counseling.

Michelle stepped into the role of lead pastor but works alongside many dedicated servant leaders. Intersect continues to be a community dedicated to loving Jesus, loving each other, and serving the community.
